even though i've only been to one canvassing so far (out of 2), its really quite meaningful.
okay, not the cliched "put in as much effort as possible to help the needy" kinda meaningful. its more like i feel that we learn more about life outside of hall, outside of our covered shells.
as we walk around the industrial parks, we get to meet really different types of people. people who talk about politics, people who are really struggling to make ends meet, people who are rich and yet dun wanna donate a single cent (sigh.) and of course, there're the warm and friendly people who not only donate money but are also willing to help us out of their jobs (we met this nice lady who donated money and even gave my friend some sample pimple cream. haha. she was really cute, she made sure we stayed in her shop while she searched up and down for the sample. and she was so sincere about it that we din have the heart to say no.)
of course, the sense of satisfaction at the end of the day for having survived a canvassing day under the hot sun is as overwhelming. hahas. and wow, the lure of ice-cream can really make us wanna work harder! lols.
